The story of civilian life under Martial Law in Hawai’i duirng World War 2. Schools taken over, manuevers in the streets, suspension of trial by jury, and registration, identification and vaccination of all citizens. But, also, an intense spirit of “doing your part” for the war and a real threat of land invasion by the enemy. During the war years, the spirit of “Go For Broke” was the battle cry.
